What brought you to naming the band The Showdown?
It was the most heavy crushing thing that we could think of. To me the showdown says BACK OFF!!!! HEAVY SOUNDS AHEAD!

What changes were brought about musically with "Temptation Come My Way" in contrast to "A Chorus of Obliteration?"
We just wanted to do a record that was a real representation of us and what we were into. We love chorus and are proud of it, but i think it's more mechanical, and temptation has more soul. That's what we are all about...feeling it.

Which song strikes a chord with you personally from the new album and what purpose does it serve for you?
Temptation Come My Way is one of my fav's on the record. It's about fighting temptation, addiction, and all the other vices that come along with being a man. It's a very heavy song. Make one mistake and 99% of the world wants to write you off you know. That's just not reality, we are all human.

How did you prepare for recording the Kansas' classic "Carry on Wayward Son?"
We didn't. We decided to do it in the studio and just learned the parts, tuned it down really low, and jammed it. It was a challenge for sure. I think it fits the record because it's a nod to our influences and lyrically i think it fits right in!

Have there been any serious injuries that have occured at any of your shows and what was done to resolve it?
No...we have been really blessed. We try to encourage maximum, extreme wildness, but be respectful of people at the show, you know...I guess mosh pits look scary, but it's a team effort. Someone falls down you pick them up! That's the real spirit of heavy metal. Everyone is there for the same reason, to have a good time.

Any crazy fans try to jump on stage and steal instruments from you at all?
Sure, happens to me all the time. I usually give my mic away to kids. I think it rules when people wanna sing along and get so involved. The real foundation of the showdown is the kids that come see us, not our label.

Any drawbacks in your career that you wish you could have done differently?
Hopefully we have just learned from all the negative. Just trying to always be moving forward.

What do you enjoy doing on and off the road?
Hanging loose! We love hanging out on the road meeting people, playing shows. We are really happy doing what we do right now. Other than the band we are all into the outdoors... stuff like that, no Gamecube's or PSP's.

Which bands influence your current sound?
Tons of different stuff, Boston, STP, Warrant, Metallica, Ratt, COC, Def Leppard, Pantera...we all like a ton of different stuff.

For the record: paper or plastic?
METAL

What keeps the band motivated?
Getting positive feedback from kids you know, that our music means something to them, is helping them....the way if feels for all of us to come together as a unit, knowing that God has put us togather. It's killer.

Why the music change? Not really the music sound but the voice change...
Well, when I did "Chorus..." I was like 22...now I'm getting close to 26. Getting older really.... I'm just learning what my voice is and just embracing the way I sound. It's more fun that way. When we were doing "Chorus..." I wasn't really focusing on being a musician. I was trying to finish college and wasn't even really thinking we were going to do much more than weekend tours. We went on tour Oct '04 and stayed on tour. There are so many factors i guess. I think my voice is way more heavier now.
